Lunera Lighting is at the forefront of a technology transition in commercial lighting. Our management's mission is to save our customers money, improve light quality, and conserve our planet’s resources by changing the way commercial spaces are lit.

This transition from traditional "analog" lighting to a new generation of "digital" LED lighting fixtures requires breadth of experience in lighting, semiconductors, and green building technologies. Lunera has assembled a leadership team that will deliver on the promise of energy efficient LED lighting.

Don Peifer

Chief Innovation Officer, Board Member, and Co-Founder

Don Peifer

Don Peifer began his career designing the lighting for some of the most celebrated photographers including Annie Leibovitz and Steven Klein. Among his architectural lighting projects are the flagship Nike Media store in New York City, the Lake Placid Olympic Torch, and the Universal Home project. He also consulted on the lighting for the 911 Pentagon Memorial.

Don has designed a variety of lighting fixtures and developed a lighting fixture for NIOSH for metal/non-metal mining. He holds a masters degree from the Lighting Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In addition to his responsibilities at Lunera Lighting, he is currently designing a new LED light fixture for One Million Lights, a non-profit foundation providing lighting to off-the-grid third-world villages worldwide. He speaks and writes articles regularly for the lighting industry and is a member of the Office Lighting Committee for the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES). Mr. Peifer is the Chief Innovation Officer for Lunera Lighting.
